About Me

Hi! I'm Krissy, the wife of the most supportive husband in the world, and the mommy to our three wild little boys David, born in 2007, Andrew, born in 2010, and Daniel, born in 2012.  As a young college student, I aspired to become a journalist.  I always wanted to write for magazines and travel the world.  I later studied business and marketing, and received my bachelors degree in that field.  I worked outside the home until I had our first child.  I've been a stay-at-home mommy ever since.

How It All Began

Upon leaving my career for full-time motherhood, I became enamored with all the different aspects of parenting and homemaking. I have read so many books on the subject and have made it my mission to be the best mom and wife I can possibly be without becoming overwhelmed with the daily stresses of life. 

Since becoming a mother, I realized the importance of nutrition and the types of food that I fed my children.  It all started with trying to save some money.  I started off by making my children's baby food from scratch, allowing me to choose fresh ingredients and experiment with different flavors and textures.

I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen.  We have our share of picky eaters in our home, so I'm always playing around with new ways to prepare fruits and vegetables that make them more palatable for my children. I'm very passionate about nutrition and I take the health of my kids very seriously.  I'm always excited to share my creations with my readers in the hopes that we can all get more nutritious food into our family menu. 

I was raised to always be mindful of the almighty dollar.  My mother, in particular, taught me how to get the most for my money.  Since becoming a one-income household, I am especially careful how I shop.  I meal plan, use coupons, and seek out as many deals I can to get the most from our grocery budget.

Recently, I've been delving into gardening and agriculture. I grew up in a family of wonderful gardeners.  I've been putting in my own garden for a few years.  I am not the best gardener yet, but I learn something new every season, and I'm excited to share that with you.

Just Take Two Bites is a fund and upbeat blog that chronicles my quest to provide a healthy and happy home, full of delicious food and loads of fun.  

To me, a full life is one that is filled with faith, love, family, kindness, and creativity. Just Take Two Bites serves as a journal of our life.  I share yummy recipes great for the entire family, budgeting tips, dollar-stretching ideas, fun crafts, and healthy homemaking.

On a Personal Note...

When I'm not shuffling my boys back and forth to school, chasing my toddler, changing diapers, blogging, or cooking for my family, I enjoy reading, traveling to the beach, scouring the internet for fun activities for my kids, shopping for cute throw pillows, and pinning everything in site on Pinterest.

I love my kids.  I love my husband.  I love being a mom.  That about sums it up!
