Time Out For Mom- Make Your Own Pumpkin Spice Coffee

Time Out For Mom is my weekly post dedicated to us mom’s that contain ideas, tips, and things that I love and make my life a little easier. I think it is so important for us mom’s to take a moment for ourselves. When we take care of ourselves, we become better mother’s.

This week’s TOFM is my homemade pumpkin spice coffee. My absolute favorite time of year is autumn. Since I live in the most humid place in the country, I welcome the sound of rustling leaves and cool, brisk air. When fall starts to show her presence, I get my fall-scented candles burning, I pull out my scarecrows for the yard, and I start making my pumpkin spice coffee.

I discovered a few years ago that I could turn my everyday coffee (which I love) into pumpkin spice. This saves me money since I only need two ingredients that I always have on hand.

To make your own pumpkin spice coffee, simply add 1/4 of a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to your coffee grounds in your regular coffee maker. I use 1/4 teaspoon of spice for three tablespoons of coffee, which makes six cups of coffee. You can play around with the amount of pumpkin spice you want. If you want more, try 1/2 teaspoon. This is just the right amount for my personal taste.

One day, I plan to play around with other spices in my coffee, but I am thoroughly enjoying my pumpkin spice!

Here are a few of my other favorite things this week:

Pumpkin Spice Tea

Gooseberry Patch Big Book of Home Cooking

Kindle

Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract

What are some of your favorite flavored coffees?
